Matt J. Holmes, Principal
Prior to founding Rampart Ridge, Matt served as VP of investments for Kilroy Realty, covering the Bay Area and Seattle markets for acquisitions (development & existing; office & mixed-use) and overseeing corporate strategy alongside the CIO. Prior to joining KRC, Matt spent several years at Carmel Partners, a top quartile investment and development focused fund manager, executing debt and equity investments nationally and analyzing topics in portfolio management with the CIO. Matt has closed in excess of $1.8B in transactions as a principal investor (plus $2.9B as an intermediary).
Prior to Carmel Partners, Matt earned an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School where he was a Frechette Scholar; he spent a term studying macroeconomics at INSEAD in France. Prior to this Matt spent five years at CBRE building its institutional investment sales group as a partner. Matt began his career solving complex optimization problems for NASA and the USAF as a mathematical analyst at an industrial engineering firm. He graduated from St. Olaf College cum laude with distinction in mathematics and a concentration in statistics.
Matt is a member of ULI's Bay Area Residential Product Council. He lives in Marin County with his lovely wife Sara and their children Ardis and Ezra.
